DRAGON'S BACK

Being woken up early in the morning on your day off is not a good start to anyone's day. Slivers of bright sunlight were seeping through the night curtains and the buzz of activity on the streets below was heard even on the 12th floor. However, upon opening the curtains, I didn't need much convincing that August 15th was meant for exploration and the idea of staying in bed all day went out the window. The rest of the morning went by in a blur and before I knew it, I was out the door.

The sun was scorching hot outside, and the humidity made it feel as if you're breathing water. Not the most ideal weather for an 'advanced' class hike, but that just makes it more fun. Combine this with not taking enough water with you and forgetting to wear sunscreen and you have a whole package called 'disaster'.

The begging of Dragon's Back was the hardest because all you do is climb up and down, up and down, up and down, for about two hours. And it's all stairs. The only thought that kept me going was that it was a very good workout. This hike is also very rewarding, the views are spectacular.

The highlights were definitely the incredible views, numerous waterfalls and of course, the humongous spiders I came across at one point during the hike.
